A few months ago I was experimenting with Photoshop to create a skin texture of the characters in the movie "avatar". Its simple enough. I've used this picture of my friend to create the avatar skin.

As shown in the work flow I've used the pen tool to create a selection around his hand and then filled it with "008dd2" (I don't know the exact tone) in a new layer.Then change the blending mode of the new layer to "overlay". I did this for all the "skin area". And for some final touch I added a few white spots on the face. I've used liquify to distort the ears. That's it...!! The Avatar Skin.
